About
A microphone.A boulevard.A lot of truth.
Queer Boulevard started with a microphone, a sidewalk in West Hollywood, and a question we weren't sure anyone would answer.
People answered. Funnier, sharper, and more honest than anything we'd scripted.
So we kept going — and then we ran into the problem every street interview has: the best part always comes after the camera should've stopped.
This is where the rest of it lives.
What this is
A street-interview show and a publication, built on the same idea — that queer stories land differently when they're told by us instead of about us.
We're not here to explain the community to outsiders. We're here for the people already in it: the ones who want a real answer about where to go, what to read, what to watch, and what's actually worth buying. Told the way you'd tell a friend, not the way a brand would tell a customer.
What you'll find
The interviews. Street conversations from West Hollywood and beyond. The unscripted stuff.
Film & TV. What to watch, what it's actually about, and where to stream it — with an opinion attached. No rankings that are secretly just a list.
Books. Deep dives, not back-cover blurbs. You'll know what you're getting into before you buy it.
Music. The artists shaping what queer sounds like right now.
Travel. City guides for people who want to know where to actually go, not where the tourism board wants you.
Essentials. The practical stuff nobody explains properly. Honest, specific, occasionally uncomfortable, always useful.
News. What's happening, why it matters, and what's worth your attention.
Who's behind it
Queer Boulevard is founded and run by Richard Bravo.
Richard grew up in Puerto Vallarta and found his way to West Hollywood — which is a long way to travel and also a very short story about a lot of things. He's spent his career in brand and creative work, which mostly taught him how many ways there are to say something without saying anything.
Queer Boulevard is the opposite of that. It started because the conversations he was having on the street were better than most of what he was reading, and nobody was publishing them.
How we work
A few things we'll hold ourselves to:
We only recommend what we'd hand to a friend. If it's on a list here, there's a reason, and we'll tell you what it is — including when the expensive one isn't worth it.
We disclose everything. Some links earn us a commission. That never decides what makes a list, and it never changes your price. Where we earn, we say so, on the page, before you click.
We say when we don't know. No invented expertise, no confidence we haven't earned.
We credit where things come from.
